Tour the Walls

Walk the City Walls



If you walk the complete circle of the walls of Chester you will comes across many of the City's landmarks.

Start at the Bridge of Sighs where Northgate Street is crossed by the canal, near the Town Hall.

Go up the steps next to the Northgate and turn right, heading past the bookshop on the walls .

Now you're almost at The Groves .

Keep to the walls as you overlook the lovely River Dee and pass County Hall on your right before moving up the hill to Chester Castle and you're almost at Chester Racecourse.

Keep to the walls and you will come to the Canal Basin and Telfords Warehouse.
